Inspection & Licensing Services

  • The Drug Inspectorate maintains the inspection and licensing for pharmacies (public and private) and drug manufacturing plants in keeping with the requirements of the Health Services Act.
  • The Environmental Health Officers maintain the inspection and licensing for hotels, restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets and hairdressers, in keeping with the requirements set out in the respective regulations of the Health Services Act.
  • The Senior Laboratory Technologist heads a team responsible for licensing and providing insight of the operations of private and public medical laboratories.
  • The Advisory and Inspection Committee is responsible for the inspection, recommendation for licensing and the periodic monitoring of the operations of nursing homes, senior citizen’s homes, maternity centres, drug treatment facilities and private hospitals.
