Complaints Committee

The Complaints Committee has the responsibility for

  1. Conducting preliminary investigations into matters referred tothe Council regarding the ability of a medical practitioner to competently discharge his professional responsibilities.
  2. Assessing the professional misconduct of the medical practitioner.
  3. Investigation into any other complaint against a medical practitioner. 

Following assessment, the Complaints Committee offers a recommendation to the Barbados Medical Council which determines whether the matter should be addressed by the Disciplinary Committee.

The Complaints Committee meets as necessary to discharge complaints received.
