Disciplinary Committee

The Disciplinary Committee was established to:

  1. Hear and determine allegations of professional misconduct or incompetence made in respect of a medical practitioner;
  2. Hear and determine other matters referred to it by the Council;
  3. Perform any other duties assigned by the Council.

In addition, this Committee conducts investigations in respect of complaints referred by the Complaints committee. The Disciplinary Committee meets as necessary.

The Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Subcommittee was established to maintain a system to enable the continual assessment of:

  1. The level of adequacy of medical training of practitioners to ensure conformity with established national and international standards;
  2. The ability and competency of a practitioner with respect to the proper provision of medical services.
