Fogging To Resume In Three Parishes Next Week
The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ Vector Control Unit will resume its fogging programme in three parishes next week.
On Monday, August 18, the fogging team will visit St. Lucy and spray Mount Gay Village, Pickering, Cottage Road, Alexandra, Lamberts, Mount Gay, and environs.
The team will fog the following areas in St. Michael on Tuesday, August 19: Ellis Road, Halls Road, Railway Road, Marlhole Gap, Hinds Gap, Roberts Gap, Chase Gap, Bibby gap, St. Hill Road, Arthur’s Land, 1st to 3rd Avenue Perry Gap, Tamarind Road, Laundry Road, Country Road, Gills Road, Whitepark Road, Waldron Street, Roebuck Street, Crumpton Street, Queen’s Park and surrounding districts.
On Wednesday, August 20, fogging will take place in the St. Peter districts of Hibiscus Drive, The Rock, Whim, Baileys Road, Goodridge Road, and environs.
The team will return to St. Michael on Thursday, August 21, and target Deanes Village, 2nd Avenue Goddings Land, Goddings Road Avenues 1 to 3, Bellevue, Sealy Land Avenues 1 to 2, Gilkes Road, Powder Road, Park Road, Station Hill Avenues 1 to 3, Leinster Road, Longford Road, Clarkes Road, Savannah Road, Clemonts Avenue, Mansion Road, Maynard Road, Nurse Road, Waterford, and neighbouring areas.
The fogging exercise for the week will culminate on Friday, August 22, in St. James at Wanstead Gardens, Husbands Heights, Husbands Terrace, Husbands Development, Husbands Crescent, Clearview Heights, Clearview Drive and environs.
Fogging takes place from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter. Children should not be allowed to play in the fog.
The public is advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control. In such circumstances, the Unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time.
