The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ Vector Control Unit will carry out its mosquito reduction programme in St. Philip and St. Michael next week.

The Unit will begin its fogging exercise in St. Philip for the first four days of the week, before visiting districts in St. Michael.

On Monday, February 16, it will target the following areas: Farm Garden, Farm Road, Farm Terrace, Neil Drive, Kirt Avenue Nos.1 and 2, Marchfield Village, South Field, Newlands, and environs.

The next day, Tuesday, February 17, Train Road, Marchfield, Brereton, Marchfield Close, Train Road No.1, Six Roads Development, Highland, and surrounding areas will be sprayed.

The Unit will concentrate its efforts in Emerald Park East and West on Wednesday, February 18.

It will be the turn of Nursery Nos.1and 2, Vale View, Blades, Oldbury/Four Roads Main Road, Four Roads Development, Mangrove Development, and Four Roads/Kirtons Main Road on Thursday, February 19.

The fogging exercise for the week will conclude on Friday, February 20, in St. Michael when the team visits Passage Road, Passage Gardens, 1st and 2nd Alleyne Lane, 1st and 2nd Thorne’s Gap, Strathclyde with Avenues, Strathclyde Crescent, Strathclyde Drive, Monteith Gardens, Waterloo Gardens, and neighbouring districts.

Fogging takes place from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter. Children should not be allowed to play in the fog.

The public is advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control. In such circumstances, the Unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time.
