Three Days Of Fogging In St. James


When the Ministry of Health and Wellness’ Vector Control Unit continues its fogging programme next week, emphasis will be on several communities in St. James for three consecutive days.

Fogging starts on Tuesday, April 29, and the following areas will be targeted: Arch Hall, Seaview, Nicholls Road Cul-De-Sac, Webster Road, Mahogany Avenue, Upper Halcyon Heights, Sunset Crest, Holetown, Hibiscus, Sunset Boulevard, Orchid Row, Flamboyant, Cordia Avenue, Mayhoe Avenue, Molyneux Road, Magnolia Road, Bennetts Road, and environs.

The following day, Wednesday, April 30, the team from the Unit will spray South Road, Layne Road Nos. 1, 2 , 3 and 4; Holders Hill; Olive Lodge Road; Dairy Meadow; John’s Plain; Thorpes Main Road; Kings Village; Holders Terrace Cul-De-Sac; St. Patrick; Bamboo Ridge; Holders Hall; and surrounding areas.

On Friday, May 2, the programme to eradicate the Aedes aegypti mosquito will conclude in Hoytes Village with avenues, Hoytes Close, Hoytes Village Terrace, Bagatelle Terrace with avenues, and environs.

Fogging takes place from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter. Children should not be allowed to play in the fog.

Members of the public are advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control. In such circumstances, the Unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time.
