The Vector Control Unit will begin in St. Thomas on Monday, October 20, in the following districts: Highland Vault Road, 1st and 2nd Avenues Welchman Hall, Allan View, and surrounding areas.

On Tuesday, October 21, and Wednesday, October 22, the Unit will visit communities in St. James.

On Tuesday, the team will go into Hibiscus Avenue, Cherry Avenue, Cemetery Lane, Mayhoe Avenue, Cordia Avenue, Flamboyant Avenue, Gardenia Avenue, Palm Avenue, Holetown, First and Second Street Holetown, and environs.

The next day, Wednesday, they will spray 1st to 6th Avenues Durants Village, Upper Durants Village, and Durants Village.

The Unit will turn its attention to St. Peter, on Thursday, October 23, when it targets Church Street, Gilles Road, Round the Town, Niles Road, Miller Road, Farm Road, Burma Road, and Mullins Road.

The fogging exercise for the week will conclude on Friday, October 24, in St. Peter.  The team will focus on Sand Street, Major Walk, Church Street, Godding Alley, Chapel Street, Alms Gap, Mango Lane, Porters Road, Bovell Road, and Archers Lane.

Fogging takes place from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter. Children should not be allowed to play in the fog.

The public is advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control. In such circumstances, the Unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time.
