The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ Vector Control Unit will visit three parishes – St. Joseph, St. Andrew and St. Michael – when it conducts its fogging programme next week.
On Monday, February 9, the Unit will spray the following districts in St. Joseph: Tent Bay, along the highway (Soup Bowl) to Bathsheba, St. Elizabeth New Road, St. Elizabeth Village, Hillswick, Philips Road, Gaggs Hill, Cleavers Hill and Joe’s River.
The team will visit areas in St. Andrew on Tuesday, February 10, and Thursday, February 12. There will be no fogging on Wednesday, February 11, which is Election Day.
On Tuesday, they will fog Belleplaine Road from St. Andrew’s Parish Church to Alleyne School Road, Worrell’s Road, Boys School Road, Redman Road, Babylon Road, Lower Walkers, Upper Walkers, and environs.
The Unit will concentrate its efforts on Lakes, Corbin’s Village, Farrell’s Road, Belleplaine Housing Area and Belleplaine, Franklyn Doughlin Road, Belmont Road, Jordan’s Road, Isolation Road, Joe’s River Tenantry and Belleplaine Main Road from the Corner of Franklyn Doughlin to the Roundabout, on Thursday.
The fogging exercise for the week will conclude in St. Michael on Friday, February 13, in Mahogany Lane, Sobers Lane, Lightfoot Lane, Light Foot Cross Road, Phillips Gap, Green Park Lane, Tudor Street, Baxter’s Road, Chapman Street, Hunte’s Street, Kings Street, White Park Road, Passage Road, Kensington Lodge and surrounding areas.
Fogging takes place from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter. Children should not be allowed to play in the fog.
The public is advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control. In such circumstances, the Unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time.
