Provisional/Temporary Registration
Requirements and Guidelines for Provisional Registration Applications (Revised August 2024)
Document Certification and Language Requirements:
- All documentation copies must be certified/notarized by a Justice of the Peace or Notary Public.
- Non-English documents must have a certified/notarized English translation.
- All documents must be legible; illegible documents will be discarded.
Required Documents for Upload:
- Recent color passport-sized photograph.
- Proof of successful completion of final M.B.B.S or M.D. examinations from an accredited medical school, or a notarized copy of the medical qualification document.
- Documentation indicating consideration for an internship program in Barbados.
- Copy/original valid police clearance certificate of character:
- Issued no earlier than six months prior to application.
- Must be from the jurisdiction where the applicant lives or works.
- Detailed curriculum vitae (CV) including biographical data and medical education.
- Proof of English proficiency (IELTS or equivalent) if English is not the first language.
- Photo identification (passport page with identifying information or national ID for Barbadian citizens).

Verification Process:
Upon provisional approval, the Medical Council Secretary will request via email in-person document presentation for verification which would be done via ONLY by appointment.
Additional Notes:
The Barbados Medical Council may request further documents or information as necessary.
The final decision on your registration is solely at the discretion of the Barbados Medical Council.
